St. Vincent Independence Celebration – G4+ Xtreme

Brian Evans traveled from St. Lucia to St. Vincent for an opportunity to take part in the Independence Celebration Motor Racing activities. Brian finished the competition events placing 1st in the 8 second bracket of the 1/8 mile acceleration test with two 8.3 second passes. And Brian followed that performance with a 3rd place finish in the All Wheel Drive class at the Diamond Dirt Track.

Once again the Link G4+ Xtreme was the key to the performance achieved. The data logging capabilities were a huge help to ensuring that engine health was always under control, as well as fine tuning the launch control and the flat shifting motorsport features. With the boost control strategy fine tuned for an ultra quick responding engine, which is best for Autocross and Drag Racing, the G4+ Xtreme gave us the amazing feature to build a low boost table with an adjusted power delivery to give the best traction on the loose dirt surface.

Brian continues to enjoy great performance from his Link G4+ Xtreme through continued support from S.A.R.D. Engineering!

Link sponsored Damien Orr : Update

There’s never a dull moment in world of Speedway! Here is an update from Damien Orr’s team:

We raced in Palmerston North Saturday night and managed some good placings
First race started 3rd, placed 4th
Second race started 24th, placed 6th
Third race started 21st, placed 3rd.
Sunday we headed to Hawkes Bay, placed 5th in the first race but unfortunately had two ‘dnfs’ due to an electrical fault.
This weekend we have Rotorua’s final practice before opening night the next weekend.

Caitlin Hayward Racing off to a great start

Congrats to Link sponsored Caitlin Hayward, coming in 1st and 2nd in her first outing at Baypark Family Speedway.

We had our first outing in the new car on Saturday night at Baypark, managed to come away with the win in the first race, the second race the car got introduced to the wall which caused a bit of damage but we went back out for the feature and ended up 2nd.
Overall I’m happy with the cars performance, we have a few things to sort out and keep us busy before our next meeting at Baypark on November 5th. – Caitlin Hayward

Josh Hassel Racing – Powered by 2x GSXR1000 Engines

Here at Link we love seeing new and interesting applications for our range of ECUs, and this is most certainly one of those, a twin engine Autograss Special powered by 2 GSXR1000 engines!

“We run a twin engine Autograss Special here in the UK driven by Josh Hassel, the car is powered by 2x Suzuki GSXR1000 engines producing approx. 380bhp and controlled by 2 Link G4+ Storm ECUs.
The new ECUs have really transformed our car this season allowing us to release massive amounts of mid-range torque which is exactly what was needed and has allowed Josh to secure both Championships he has raced for this year.
With our season drawing to a close we only have 1 event left which is the amazing Flame and Thunder show at Santa Pod Raceway, this is a Drag Racing event we get invited to every year, and although the car was never built for Drag Racing it is always a crowd pleaser and very fast in a straight line as you can imagine, and in front of massive crowds we can give LINK plenty of brand exposure.”

Kurofune is now here!

The Kurofune is compatible with all HKS F-Con adapter looms

There are already a host of aftermarket adapter looms for all types of Japanese cars that will plug straight into your car and straight into the Kurofune.

This also means that the Kurofune is a ready made replacement for other aftermarket ECUs that share that same wiring set-up.

We’re proud to sponsor Amanda Skelly from the Noble Star Rally Team

Here at Link ECU we love a good cause, especially if they include motorsport!
That’s why we are so proud to sponsor Amanda Skelly from the Noble Star Rally Team.
Noble Star have set out to raise money and awareness for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and are now in the early stages of a new rally car build. The build initially had a rocky start with the vehicle getting moth-balled much to Amanda’s surprise and disappointment, but we can now happily say the project is back on track.

The car has recently been stripped and prepped for the roll cage to be fitted. We’ll keep you up to date on Amanda and the teams progress as it happens. Keep up the good work Amanda!
