AdaptaLink

The AdaptaLink lets you plug "wire in" Link ECUs straight into your factory wiring harness.

"Plug-in Simplicity"

AdaptaLink, the solution that lets you plug "wire-in" Link ECUs straight into your factory wiring harness.

The AdaptaLink plugs directly into our LEMG3 or LinkPlusG3 Engine Management Systems using a short loom (supplied as standard), with the manufacturer's harness plugging into the other side.

AdaptaLink Advantages

  • Fully enclosed PCB with factory headers soldered directly to it
  • No wires soldered straight onto header pins, meaning improved strain relief  and less susceptibility to vibration
  • No shorting hazard due to exposed wires / terminals etc.
  • Provision for additional non-factory functions such as inlet air temperature / oil pressure not supported by the original vehicle

Patch cableFor the last couple of years competitors have been producing "patch" harnesses to compete with our ground breaking plug-in management systems.

"Patch" cables are cheap and easy to produce, but they use connectors which are designed to be used on printed circuit boards.  This means that the connector legs are cut off and wires soldered directly onto the remainder of the pin.

These connections can break when subject to vibration and / or strain. Some manufacturers have recognised this weakness and have encapsulated the connector in silicon.  This can help to some degree with vibration, but not with relieving any strain on the wires. The only real option is to use the connectors as they are designed.

Originally Link countered this with HeaderLinks.  These mounted the header to the PCB, and provided a short loom from the ECU which the customer then wired to the HeaderLink.  This was a more robust solution than soldering wires directly to the header, but still was inconvenient for customers, as it was not a true plug-and-play solution.

We are now delighted to be able to offer a robust solution that is up to the job - AdaptaLinks
