R.I.P.S stop just short of sevens
An update on the R.I.P.S. car, running Link's G4 Xtreme
Rotorua Import Pro Shop proprietor and 240Z driver Robbie Ward and his crew had a good day out on last weekend at the Century Batteries Nationals. Coming into the event, Rob, Avon and crew had the 240Z sitting quick at a best ET of 8.22 @ 269kph. Though, with the nitrous solenoid issues that have plagued the crew in the past fixed, Rob laid down an impressive and stupid-quick 8.05 @ 277kph on what Robbie describes as a “pretty hairy run”.
“We also ran 8.26, 8.25 and 8.16 leading up to the 8.05, and I’m pretty sure we could have bettered the 8.05 in the finals if we’d been allowed to race, but hey.” Robbie tells us.
Unfortunately, due to timing constraints, the finals at the meet had to be postponed until this coming weekend. All going well, it shouldn’t be long before we see the world’s fastest 240Z dropping into the NZPC 7-Second Club.
