Sean Falconer at Pukekohe for D1 2006
It has been an action packed few weeks for Sean Falconer's drifting team starting with a D1 GP event at Pukekohe race track on the 28Th of may, where NZ Drifting was judged buy the worlds best. Five of japans best drivers and judges came to NZ looking for top NZ Drivers to compete internationally overseas.
The day started out slowly with interpreters needed to communicate between the NZ drivers and Japanese judges, also a Japanese film crew where filming for the latest Option DVD which gets distributed world wide.
By the end of the day Sean had eliminated all of the competition and impressed the judges taking the win, The Judges comments, where that Sean could place Top four in the the world championship, and have invited him to compete internationally.
The second round of D1NZ (NZ drifting championship) on the 10Th of this month was a day of mixed fortune, the morning practice and qualifying runs looked promising with Sean looking very strong qualifying in the top of the field,
The first battle was an easy win Sean taking out Tony Brendon to make top eight.
The next battle to make top four against Gaz Whitaker was fiercely fought, after both runs the judges couldn't decide a winner so it was re-run. On the second run Sean pushed his car hard to gain the advantage when a second to third gear change went wrong and the gearbox broke forcing Sean to retire for the day in 8th place.
With another four rounds of the D1NZ championship to go Sean is fourth overall in the standings and is looking to make the car more reliable so he can get back to the top of the table...
Seans car has recently featured in auto trader magazine and is also in the latest Performance car and Rev magazines, also all the footage from the last two events will be played on performance car TV, Import X and 3 sports arena, here in NZ.
