Otago Rally 2006 - Duncan McCrostie

After a great start to the rally year we went into the Otago classic rally with our hopes high.

As we came out of the first stage with the 4th fastest time our dreams of a top 3 finish was destroyed when the diff cried "I have had enough".

We re-joined the rally and had some fun with some testing on the way. The diff ratio was too low and we lost top speed - 154km was all it would do on the rpm limit.

Stage 7, a street stage, we won by 1.8 sec.  Forbury Park is a horse racing track that they use and we got the second fastest top speed out of all the cars at 132kph.

All in all a great weekend.
