4efte Trigger Voltage!

Posted by Dadoulis Paschalis at January 03. 2012

Hi all!

Happy new year!

Can someone help with the tables of the triggers' arming threshold? I mean which are the correct values? I'm on a dizzy setup with 265 cams and adjustable pulley and as soon as I achieve a good adjustment I'm getting trigger errors with lots of "anomalies" in the rpm especially on idle!!

Thanks!

Regards

And also what are the correct filtering levels....

You really need to test with a scope and see what voltages you are seeing.from the sensors.

You could try 0.5v up to 1000rpm

say 1.5v at 2000rpm and should be safe at 3v above 3000rpm.

I'd leave filtering low. But there is no generic correct. Every car is different.

And are you sure you even have the trigger set up properly ?

Car is working fine for the last 4 years, so trigger should be ok!! Also I've tried these numbers and really helped a bit!! Main thing I've tried was setting back the distributor where it was together with the cam pulley so everything was back to normal!!

I'll see if I can find an adjustable cam gear for the inlet cam as well!!

Thanks for helping me out!!

So if it has been installed and running for 4 years. Why is there suddenly a problem ? What have you changed ?

Adjustable cam pulley (now) and already using a set of 265 cams for a year...begining to believe I need to order an adjustable cam gear for the intake cam as well...

None of those things should have any impact on the actual triggering from the dizzy.

If you have altered the cam timing this can affect your TDC reference. This will affect ignition timing ( which will need checked and corrected. Nothing more though

When I have to turn the dizzy too much to correct the timing then this prob occurs!! So I've moved the cam just a little to the back so dizzy was back to its regular "margins" and case solved....Maybe with an adjustable cam gear for the intake cam I'll make a better combination...?

What exactly is the makeup of the triggering system you are using ?

Does the dizzy provide all triggers, or is there a separate crank sensor too ?

And why on earth are you rotating the dizzy to adjust timing, when you have a fully programmable ecu ?

Multi-tooth, cam,cam so all triggers come from the dizzy...no crank sensor...

Stock 4efte ignition system

I know about the trigger offset adjustment but if I leave the dizzy untouched when rotating/ajusting the cam pulley then I get way too high number to in the offset, is it ok?

Free yourself from the constraints of the factory ECU. Link's G4 Plug-Ins fit discretely inside the original enclosure. Installation is a breeze, no alteration of the factory wiring loom required. An XS connector provides additional inputs and outputs such as oil pressure inputs or anti-lag / logging switches (the number available depends on the application).
