Tacho Output

Posted by daniel calderwood at May 15. 2008
Hi Ive got a link plus G1 running an SR20DET. the tacho output was working fine in the 1st car i had it in. I have since moved it to a new car and the tacho just wont read. I put a voltmeter on the output wire and its just putting out a constant 12v. Same engine and loom, different car. Any ideas ?

This is likely to be the Tacho wanting a coil negative signal. The ECU only does a pulsed 0-12V signal.

Some Tachos can be modified across.

I mean i put a meter on the wire out of the link and its reading constant voltage. its not changing with revs like it should do. This is without being connected to the gauge cluster at all. the reading on my hand controller shows fine

Really need a scope to check the output. To see if it is switching at all. We can bench test if required.

Plug-In

Free yourself from the constraints of the factory ECU. Link's G4 Plug-Ins fit discretely inside the original enclosure. Installation is a breeze, no alteration of the factory wiring loom required. An XS connector provides additional inputs and outputs such as oil pressure inputs or anti-lag / logging switches (the number available depends on the application).
